The baseball team won its opening series against Oregon.

🔼 Opening Dub. The No. 17 baseball team won its series opener against No. 16 Oregon. The Trojans won 2-1 in 11 innings. Isaac Cadena hit the winning home run in the top of the 11th inning. Jack Basseer and Walter Urbon led the team with two hits each. Andrew Johnson earned the win on the mound after pitching 3.1 innings and striking out four batters. Mason Edwards threw 6.0 innings and struck out 12 batters.

🔼 Remembering Him. USC’s first All-American tight end, Charles Young, has passed away. Young, known both as Charles and Charlie while at USC and nicknamed "Tree", was a unanimous All-American selection in 1972 as the Trojans won the national championship. The three-year (1970-72) letterman, caught 68 passes in his career for 1,090 yards with 10 touchdowns, including a team-high 29 receptions in 1972 when he also earned All-Conference first team honors. He was selected to play in the 1973 Hula Bowl and Coaches All-America Game.

🔼 Opponents. The men’s basketball team announced its 2026-27 Big Ten opponents. The Trojans will play in a 20-game conference slate. USC will have a home-and-home series with three teams and only play the other 14 Big Ten schools once. The West Coast institutions will stick together for the home-and-home series as USC will play UCLA, Washington and Oregon twice during the Big Ten slate.
Today’s Top Tier Performance presented by ARCO is women’s water polo athlete Emily Ausmus. Ausmus was named a Peter J. Cutino Award Finalist. This marks her second straight season being selected. She led the Trojans with 77 goals and totaled 107 points on the year.
