🔼 Finalists. Two football players were named finalists for the 2025 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry who epitomizes great ability and integrity. Wide receiver Makai Lemon is the highest-graded wide receiver in college football, with an overall average of 90.4. Quarterback Jayden Maiava recorded 247-of-373 for 3,431 yards with 23 touchdowns.

🔼 HOF. Former USC linebacker Rey Maualuga was named to the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame. Maualuga is the seventh Trojan to be inducted into the honor. He is USC’s only Bednarik Award winner. He played from 2005-2008. USC was 46-6 in his career and finished No. 2 in the final AP poll in 2005.

🔼 Watch Out! Two Trojans were named to the Big Ten 2025 Indoor Track and Field Athlete Watch List. Dajaz Defrand had six top-three finishes in 2025. She competed in the 60m and 200m at the Big Ten Indoor Championships and earned the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Garrett Kaalund competed in three meets and earned two First-Team All-America honors for the 4×400 relay and the 200m.
