🔼 On the Ballot. Former USC football players Jeff Bregel, Mark Carrier and Bruce Matthews have selected for the 2027 College Football Hall of Fame Ballot. They are three of 80 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision to be placed on the ballot. Bregel was two-time (1985-86) consensus All-American while lettering at USC from 1983-86. USC went 26-20-1 in his career. Carrier was USC's first Thorpe Award winner in 1989 as the nation's top defensive back. The two-time All-American (1988-89, unanimous in 1989) lettered for the Trojans from 1987-89. USC was 27-8-1 in his career and was 18th in the final AP Poll in 1987, seventh in 1988 and eighth in 1989. Matthews was a 1982 consensus All-American while lettering from 1980-82. USC was 25-8-1 in his career and was 11th in the final AP poll in 1980, 14th in 1981 and 15th in 1982. The Arcadia, Calif. native was a Trojan captain in 1982 and a two-time All-Conference first teamer (1981-82).
