🔼 Spring (Football) In Our Step. It’s only fitting that the USC Spring Game ended on a signature big play after playing out that same way all Saturday afternoon. Jacobe Covington closed out the afternoon with an interception on the last play of the game, securing a 42-34 victory for the Trojan defense in Lincoln Riley's second spring football game. But that wasn’t the only highlight on either side of the ball.

To the highlight reel!

💪 Caleb Williams played just the first drive of the game and went 2-of-2 throwing a touchdown pass to Mario Williams to light up the Coliseum with Coach Riley's electric brand of offense.

🚀 Quinten Joyner led the ground attack with six carries for 92 yards, including this 26-yard sprint to the end zone.

👀 Jacobe Covington wasn’t the only one snatching turnovers away from the offense. Christian Pierce read this throw perfectly and snagged the first interception of the day.

💥 A’Marion Peterson and Matt Colombo proved that the goal line offense should be fun to watch as both punched it in for six right before halftime.

🔼 We’re Seeing Double. Sometimes, one just isn’t enough. No. 10 USC men’s tennis went for back-to-back victories this weekend—putting together a 4-0 sweep over Oregon and then turning around the next day and gutting out a 4-1 win over Washington. With the two victories, USC improves to 14-7 on the season with a 4-2 record in conference play, good for third in conference standings, and have just two more matches left over the next week against UCLA on Wednesday and Utah on Sunday.

🔼 Sharing Is Caring. No. 20 USC women’s lacrosse found the gold in Oregon as it secured at least a share of the Pac-12 regular season title after a 10-5 victory over the Ducks on their home turf at Pape' Field on Sunday. This comes after the Trojans won 16-13 to erase a big-time Colorado halftime lead earlier in the weekend.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. The No. 1 USC women's water polo team wrapped up a perfect season at home in celebrating Senior Day with a 15-11 win over visiting No. 19 Arizona State. The Trojans celebrated seven departing seniors before the game, honoring the standout careers of Christina Crum, Mireia Guiral, Claire Haas, Paige Hauschild, Téa Poljak, Grace Tehaney, and Bayley Weber. With its 6-0 mark at home this season, USC is now 24-1 overall and leads the MPSF with a 5-0 record in conference play.

🔼 Three Cheers. USC women’s volleyball took three out of four matches in this weekend’s Center of Effort Challenge, finishing in second place out eight competing teams—with victories over No. 6 Loyola Marymount, No. 4 Florida State, and No. 11 Long Beach State before falling in a down-to-the-wire 3-2 decision over No. 2 UCLA in the first-place dual.

🤔 TROJAN TRIVIA

Keeping up with the Jones. Allie Jones won the 800m with her fifth personal record of the two-day competition to finish with a school-record 6,217 points and win the Mt. SAC Relays Elite Heptathlon competition. That’s pretty impressive considering how many events that heptathletes have to compete in over the course of a competition.

Our question today—do you know how many events are in the Heptathlon competition?

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

Caleb Williams was front and center of the Heisman Trophy presentation in front of a crowd of 25,213 fans at USC’s Spring Game. QB1 was joined by his parents and members of last year’s football team, along with Robert Whalen, Executive Director of the Heisman Trust.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Seven

A heptathlon is made up of seven events. The name derives from the Greek “hepta” (meaning "seven") and “áthlos” (meaning "competition"). The more you know, right?

Have a great Monday, everyone.
