The Three Torches 10/27: MBB Undefeated in Preseason

The men's basketball team beat GCU and is 2-0 in preseason.

🔼 Anotha’ Dub. The men’s basketball team won its second exhibition game of the season. The Trojans beat GCU 67-61. Chad Baker-Mazara put up a team-high 15 points. Freshman guard Jerry Easter II tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

🔼 Top 2. The cross country team finished second in the John Elders Titan Invite. This is the team’s best finish since 2023. Three Trojans placed in the top 10 out of 62 finishers. Sydney Knodel and Jacqueline Duarte finished second and third, respectively.

🔼 Four Sets. The women’s volleyball team beat Washington 3-1 on Sunday. This marked head coach Brad Keller’s 100th-career win. Reese Messer had a career-high 48 assists. London Wijay led the team with 18 kills. Mia Tvrdy had 15 kills.

🔼 Tie Game. The women’s soccer team tied UCLA 0-0 on Sunday. USC had six shots, and none were on goal. Goalkeeper Bella Grust had seven saves.

🔼 Top 3. The men’s golf team finished in third place at the Georgia Collegiate. The team had an overall score of 857 (-7). Jose Antonio Safa led the Trojans with a score of 214 (-2). He finished tied for 14th individually.

Today’s Top Tier Performance presented by ARCO is Bailey Shoemaker. The women’s golf player won the 2025 Tom Cousins Award. The award is given to student-athletes who best exemplify the civic, community and philanthropic qualities of East Lake Foundation founder Tom Cousins.

Rowing Wins. The rowing team competed in the Head of the American Regatta.

The team had # top-five finishes and won both the 4+ and 8+ races.

USC Trojans Unite to Fight Blood Shortages

Join the USC Trojans in the nationwide We Give Blood drive to combat urgent blood shortages in the U.S. and inspire new donors. Every donation can save up to three lives.
