🔼 New Coach. The women’s volleyball team has a new associate head coach, Matt Jones. Jones recently served as the head coach at UC Santa Barbara for the last three seasons. He also spent time as an assistant coach at Harvard, head coach at Santa Barbara City College and Santa Barbara Volleyball Club.

🔼 Ranked Game. The women’s basketball team faced No. 13 Michigan State on Thursday. Kara Dunn led the team with 23 points. Jazzy Davidson followed with 21, and Kennedy Smith had 15. The Trojans shot 47.4% from the field, but fell 74-68.

🔼 Weekly Honor. The Big Ten Conference named Michal Chmielewski the Men’s Swimmer of the Week. Chmielewski was part of the 400y medley relay squad that set a new Uytengsu Aquatics Center pool record by posting a time of 3:04.04. He also set a new USC program and pool record in the 100y butterfly.

Today’s Top Tier Performance presented by ARCO is Garrett Kaalund. Kaalund was named the Big Ten Co-Track Athlete of the Week. He won the men’s 300m and tied the second-fastest time in NCAA history in the event.
