🔼 Back On Top. The No. 21-ranked USC women's volleyball team recorded its eighth win of the season and won the Trojans/Lions Invitational with a four-set victory over UC San Diego at Galen Center. It was the fifth straight win for the Trojans who conclude nonconference play and open the Big Ten schedule next week. Ally BatenhorstMia Tuaniga, and Grae Gosnell were each named to the all-tournament team with Batenhorst tabbed as the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

🔼 Heads Held High. The No. 3 USC men's water polo team wound up with its first loss of the season in taking a 12-9 defeat to top-ranked UCLA in the championship game at the Overnght MPSF Invitational. Robert López Duart was USC's top scorer at the event with  10 goals, followed by nine from Max Miller. The Trojans are now 10-1 overall on the year after an impressive run at the first major tournament competition of 2024.

🔼 Fought Til The End. Michigan welcomed USC Football to the Big Ten with a heavy dose of smashmouth football. After scoring a touchdown with 37 seconds left, the 18th-ranked Wolverines bested the Trojans in a 27-24 win in USC’s conference debut. Quarterback Miller Moss three for 283 yard and three touchdowns while running back Woody Marks ran for 100 yards on just 13 carries. 🔼 On A Roll. The No. 25 USC women's soccer team scored twice in the second half at Indiana to pick up a 2-0 win on the road and move to 3-0 in Big Ten play. After battling through a scoreless first 45 minutes, Helena Sampaio broke the game open with a stunning goal in the 63rd minute. Sampaio, who now has two goals and an assist in her last three games, volleyed the ball over a defender and struck it out of the air to put the Trojans ahead. USC would double the lead just over four minutes later when Kayla Colbert scored in the 67th minute.

🔼 Alive and Thriving. USC men's tennis' newest players succeeded in their first hint of collegiate action, as the Trojans went 5-2 in doubles and 10-2 in singles during the Sherwood Invitational. The three players at the forefront of this dominant performance were freshman Niels Hoffmann, freshman Connor Church and graduate transfer Tristan Bradley. As it stacked up Hoffmann produced the best weekend going 4-0 in singles, and 3-0 in doubles. Church followed suit going 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles. Bradley was 2-2 in both singles and doubles for the weekend.

🔼 Wrapped Up. Junior Antonio Safa had the top score and finished just outside of the top 25, as the USC men’s golf team fell two spots on the final day and ended up in 11th place at the William H. Tucker Invitational. It was a tough day across the field, as only two teams were even or below par. USC ended the final round 23-over par for the tournament, finishing one back of 10th. The Trojans return to action at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational on Oct. 6-Oct. 8, for the first three-day tournament of the season.

Today’s Top Tier Performance presented by ARCO goes to USC volleyball’s Ally Battenhorst. The fifth-year outside hitter matched her career high with 21.5 points earned on 17 kills (6e, 42att) with .262 hitting en route to being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. It was her 10th match in double-digit kills as she added nine digs, three blocks and a career-high three service aces.

Brick House. The No. 25 USC soccer team is coming off a pair of Big Ten wins to start conference play this year, and a large part of that success is due to the brick wall that is the Trojan defense.
