🔼 Moving Day. The Trojans surged up the leaderboard three spots in the final round at the Golf Club of Georgia Intercollegiate to take home a seventh place finish in the team’s third competition of the fall.
Freshman Gavin Aurilia fired off a career round, shooting a 5-under par 67 to lead the Trojans on the day. Krando Nishiba finished as the low Trojan for the tournament though with a T22 finish after going 2-under par across three days of play.
🔼 Off to the Races. USC cross country raced at the Highlander Invitational this weekend, and came away with four runners setting a new 6K personal best and an 11th place finish. Junior Gigi Maccagnini led all Trojans with a 25th place individual finish with a time of 21:11.3, and moved up 11 spots in the final 2K of the race.
Now, the Trojans set their sights on the Pac-12 Championships on Oct. 27th where the team will seek a conference title.
🔼 World Champs. Trojan All-Americans Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes claimed gold medals at the 14th Beach Volleyball World Championships. The duo had to go through the world’s No. 1 ranked pairing from Brazil for the win and got the job done in straight sets The win also secured them a much-deserved berth in the 2024 Olympic Games that will be held in London next year.
🔼 Draw It Up. The No. 13 ranked Women of Troy soccer team were all knotted up when the whistle blew to end the game in a 1-1 draw against Colorado. In just over two minutes of play, USC found the back of the net with a Kayla Colbert goal, and a few minutes later, the Buffaloes leveled the score. From then on, the defensive battle ensued and lasted until the bitter end.
With the result, the Trojans move to 5-0-1 in Pac-12 play and still remain undefeated. Next up, the team will face off against a pair of Arizona teams over the course of a couple of days later this week.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING
Coming in to the matchup undefeated, the No. 10 Trojans were knocked off by the No. 23 Fighting Irish for their first loss of the season.
USC fell behind quickly, finding themselves down 24-6 at halftime. Coming back out, the offense found some life and cut the lead to just 11 with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter after a Brendan Rice touchdown. Unfortunately, the Trojans were unable to get any closer, and as the clock read triple zeroes, fell 48-20 to Notre Dame.
🗣️ "Nights like that happen. You have to get through it, you got to keep fighting, you have to be a leader." - quarterback Caleb Williams
The Trojans will put this loss behind them, get to work and jump right back in to action as the team will face off against No. 16 Utah at The Coliseum on Saturday night.
