🔼 Ultimate Praise. The former No. 1 recruit in the nation earned some pretty high preseason praise this week. Isaiah Collier was named the CBS Sports Preseason Freshman of the Year as the No. 21 Trojans ramp up for the 2023-24 season. The first-year student-athlete will have a plethora of talent around him to help get him settled in to the competition, and it won’t be long until the Galen Center will be rocking with the team.

🔼 Teeing Off. The Women of Troy head back to the tee box this weekend to compete against a 19-team field at Pac-12 rival Stanford’s home course. The three-day Stanford Intercollegiate will feature five golfers including Brianna Navarrosa and Catherine Park. The team will look to capture its second win of the season in the crowded field in one of the last tournaments of the fall for the Trojans.

🔼 Among the Best. The Women of Troy basketball squad have themselves their own standout player. Grad transfer McKenzie Forbes was selected as one of 20 candidates for the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Preseason Watch List. Forbes comes into USC averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game throughout her career.

🔼 On To The Next. Despite putting up nearly three times as many shots as the Sun Devils, Trojan soccer fell in a 1-0 loss on the road. The match was dominated by defense with the sole goal of the outing coming in the 72nd minute. Next up, the Women of Troy will head to Tucson, AZ, for a chance to bounce back with a win on Sunday afternoon.

🔼 Bounce Back. USC football will look to bounce back from its loss against Notre Dame with a top-20 matchup against Utah on Saturday night in The Coliseum.

The No. 18 Trojans will aim to get back on track against the Utes with their high-powered offense that has gotten the team so far in previous games this season. Quarterback Caleb Williams will look to add to his 2,007 passing yards and 23 touchdowns this season as he and head coach Lincoln Riley are currently 0-2 against Utah all-time.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

USC football has itself two Midseason All-Americans.

Zachariah Branch earned the selection from both The Sporting News and ESPN as a returner. So far this season, Branch has two return touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns, making him the first Trojan since Adoree Jackson to have a punt return, kickoff return and receiving touchdown in the same season.

Calen Bullock was selected on the AP Midseason All-America Second Team as a safety. This season, Bullock has racked up 36 tackles, one interception and a team-high five pass breakups.
