What else can you find in today's edition of The Three Torches?

🔼 Keep Them Coming. The freshman phenom continues to bring in national accolades. Return specialist Zachariah Branch has been named a USA Today First Team All-American and PFF First Team All-American, making him the Trojans’ first-ever true freshman First Team All-American.

Branch electrified the nation with his return skills, and for good reason. He is the first Trojan since Adoree' Jackson to have a punt return and kickoff return for a touchdown, as well as at least one receiving touchdown in the same season.

🔼 Going Pro. USC’s outside hitter, Kalyah Williams, will be in the Pro Volleyball Federation’s inaugural season after being selected as the 33rd overall pick. Williams will head to Orlando as a member of the Valkyries.

🗣️ "She has put in so much hard work as a student-athlete and will be an incredible asset as a professional to the Valkyries in year one. We know she will be in good hands under head coach Amy Pauly and I, for one, am extremely excited to cheer on Kalyah, Amy, Orlando, and the rest of the PVF as they embark on their inaugural season." - head coach Brad Keller

Throughout her collegiate career, Williams played in 131 matches and collected 796 kills with a .220 hitting percentage while racking up 311 blocks, 264 digs, and 36 service aces for 1,008 career points.

🔼 Staying Steady. For the third week in a row, the Women of Troy came in at the No. 6 spot in the latest AP Rankings. USC’s 8-0 start has turned heads in the college basketball space as the team has climbed 15 spots since the start of the season. The Trojans will look to stay consistent and keep stacking wins as they prepare for their next game against Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

Juju Watkins continues to sweep the Pac-12’s weekly awards list following the Trojan’s eighth-straight victory over UC Riverside. The nation’s No. 2 scorer put up 27 points with five assists and five steals in front of a roaring crowd at the Galen Center.

Before receiving this week’s award, Watkins had set the Pac-12 record for consecutive Freshman of the Week honors. Now, she will aim to close the gap on the record of eight total selections by a Pac-12 player in a single season.
