🔼 Coming In Hot. USC lacrosse will kick off the 2024 season close to where it ended last year, entering as the No. 17 team according to the latest from the ILWomen/IWLCA preseason rankings. Last season, the Trojans finished at No. 21 en route to its Pac-12 regular season and tournament title. USC will begin its season on Feb. 9 against Army followed by a matchup against Michigan.

🔼 True Road Test. The No. 12 USC men's volleyball team will play its first true road match of the season when the Trojans meet No. 19 UC San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., for a Wednesday-night tilt. USC enters the matchup with an all-time record of 45-11 and has won seven of its last 10 matches against the Tritons.

🔼 Day Two Complete. After two rounds under their belts, USC men’s golf at the Southwestern Invitational finished day two with a total of 10-over par, pushing them to 4-over for the tournament. Krando Nishiba played steady and carded three birdies on the round before finishing at even-par for the day. Sam Lape bounced back with a team-high five birdies on his round to push him up the leaderboard. The Trojans will look to put together a solid final round in the early wave, teeing off at 8:22 a.m.

🔼 Boogie To The West. USC men’s basketball’s Boogie Ellis was named a Top 10 candidate for the 2024 Jerry West Award, which recognizes the top collegiate shooting guards. The annual award is named in honor of the 1980 Hall of Famer, “The Logo”, Jerry West.

The fifth-year guard leads the Trojans with an 18.1 points per game average and has averaged 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 16 games. He ranks seventh in three-point percentage in the country and averages 3.31 three-pointers made per game, ranking 10th nationally.  Ellis is also just one of three Power 6 players averaging at least 18.1 points, 3.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

For the first time in her collegiate career, USC sophomore Emma Charney received the Pac-12 Player of the Week award following her impressive performance throughout ITA Kickoff Weekend. Charney defeated a ranked singles opponent on Friday, downing Miami's No. 90 ranked single 6-2, 7-5 to send the Trojans through to the championship match. On Sunday, the sophomore followed it up with a three-set win over Tennessee, beating the single 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the match for the Women of Troy and qualify them for the upcoming ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
