🔼 Running Man. USC football added Anthony Jones Jr. as its newest running backs coach/run game coordinator. Jones Jr., most recently with TCU, helped the Horned Frogs’ total offense reach No. 11 in the country while coaching its lead back to No. 14 in rushing yards per game and No. 20 in total rushing yards. Before his time at TCU, Jones spent 4 seasons as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Memphis (2018-2021).

🔼 Playoff Time. The No. 5-ranked Women of Troy will head into the Pac-12 Tournament as a No. 2 seed — the highest-ever seeding for USC women’s basketball. With a first-round bye, the Trojans will face off in a quarterfinal matchup against either Arizona or Washington for a spot in the conference’s final four. USC finished the season with 23 wins, the most regular season wins since the 1993-94 season, with a 13-5 conference record.

🔼 Seesaw Battle. The Trojans went back-and-forth with Cal State Fullerton, but a Dean Carpentier RBI single proved to be the difference as USC came out on top, 6-5. Shortstop Ryan Jackson finished the night with two RBI while Austin Overn recorded a team-high two hits and brought home one run. The Trojans will look to build off of their third win of the season in their upcoming three-game series against Arizona this weekend in Irvine.

🔼 The Last Stand. In the final homestand of the regular season, USC men’s basketball will host Arizona State tonight at 8 p.m. The Trojans enter the game 4-4 in its last eight games with two of the losses coming in overtime and one being a one-possession game. USC has won its last seven home games against the Sun Devils and seven of its last nine contests against ASU. Freshman Isaiah Collier comes into the matchup after being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season after his 30-point career-best performance against Washington.

🔼 Final Game Dub. The Women of Troy moved to 4-1 on the season after wrapping up its trip to the East Coast with a 17-14 win over VCU. Junior Maggie Brown finished as the leading goal scorer for the Trojans as she posted five goals in the first half. Redshirt junior Isabelle Vitale posted the most points with six (two goals & four assists). The win moved USC to 21-21 on the East Coast all-time and 62-31 in road games.

🔼 Queens of the Court. Hosting No. 58 UC Santa Barbara, USC women’s tennis took the 6-1 victory for its seventh of the season. After claiming the doubles point, the Trojans carried their momentum as Eryn Cayetano and Naomi Cheong posted wins in straight sets. McKenna Koenig capped off the match with a straight-set win on court six to earn the win for USC. USC is back in action on Frida, as the Trojans host No. 29 ranked Washington for a 1:30 p.m. matchup.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

USC women’s basketball is heading into the Pac-12 Tournament with a trio of players who earned conference honors.

🏆️ JuJu Watkins was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, the All-Pac-12 Team, and was selected as an honorable mention to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. On top of her conference accolades, Watkins was named as one of five finalists for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award which goes to the nation’s top shooting guard. The No. 2 scorer in the nation with her 27.8 points per game set a USC record with her 51-point outing in the upset over Stanford. That mark still stands as the most points scored by any player in the nation this season.

🏆️ Rayah Marshall earned honorable mentions to the All-Pac-12 Team and the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. Also on the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List, Marshall is averaging a double-double with 10.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

🏆️ McKenzie Forbes was selected as a member of the All-Pac-12 Team in her first season with the Trojans. The full-time starter was second on the team in scoring with 13.1 points per game and is just a step behind Watkins in 3-point makes with 55 to date. She set a new career high with a 36-point effort at Long Beach State — one of her 20 double-digit outings for USC thus far.
