🔼 Upset Alert. It took five sets, but USC men’s volleyball pulled off the upset over BYU, earning a 3-2 win in the quarterfinal match at the MPSF Tournament. Jack Deuchar led the attack with his 30 kills in the contest and led the team with 34.5 points. Dillon Klein aided the offense with 12 kills of his own while Kyle Paulson finished with a .667 hitting percentage. The win moves the Trojans into the 4:30 p.m. semifinal today where the team will face crosstown rival and top-seeded UCLA.

🔼 Deja Vu. For the second week in a row, the USC baseball team put up double-digit runs in a convincing win over No. 17 UC Irvine, this time picking up a 12-4 road win over the Anteaters. USC got things started with a three-run second inning and then broke the game open with five runs in the fourth. The Trojans scored in five of the nine innings, had a season-high 16 hits and got RBI from four different Trojans.

🔼 Big Weekend. USC Track and field will be competing at the 64 ^th Annual Mt. SAC Relays all weekend long. The Trojan men head into the competition ranked No. 7 and the women No. 23 according to the latest USTFCCCA poll. A large contingent of prominent professional athletes will attend the Elite competitions, including Trojan alumni like Rai Benjamin, Isaiah Jewett, Bailey Lear, Joy McArthur, and Tade Ojora.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

USC women's basketball is welcoming incoming freshman guard Brooklyn Shamblin to the program for the 2024-25 season following the guard's signing of a national letter of intent. A product of the nearby Oaks Christian High School, Shamblin joins fellow Californian Kennedy Smith along with six other out-of-state signees as USC's seven newcomers for next season.

As a freshman, the 5-9 guard was named the 2022 CIF Southern Section Player of the Year after helping lead Oaks Christian to its first CIF-SS title since 2003. A First Team All-State honoree and league MVP in 2022 with Oaks Christian, she finished her high school career as a 2024 McDonald's All-American nominee in her senior year.
