🔼 Another One. “Sometimes life comes full circle,” said USC women’s basketball head coach Lindsay Gottlieb after signing All-Ivy League Second Team member and Harvard team captain McKenzie Forbes.
Forbes will join the program for the Trojans this upcoming season as a grad transfer after averaging 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game during her time in Cambridge. The newest Trojan has brings some serious accolades to an already loaded team including a 2023 Ivy League Madness All-Tournament Team honoree, Pac-12 All-Freshman team Honorable Mention, and a Sacramento Player of the Decade award for 2010-2020.
The versatile Forbes will bring her basketball IQ and playmaking abilities to the court as one of three new grad transfers from the Ivy League. “She…brings tremendous value to USC both on and off the court,” said Coach Gottlieb, and will be on the hunt to bring a championship to LA.
🔼 The Best Sport. After bringing home the ITA Southwest Region Sportsmanship Award earlier last week, Eryn Cayetano was awarded the ITA National Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award.
The two-time All-American, and one of the top players in all of college tennis in her duration with the program, is known by all for her commitment to the game and her care for others. The award is given to the player who displays inspiring dedication to her team, and Cayetano did just that this season. An award well-deserved as she embarks on her pro career and life after graduation.
🔼 All These Americans. If you didn’t feel like counting yourself, Trojan track and field came away with nineteen (19!!) All-Americans from the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Among the group were siblings Tade and Temi Ojora, both First Team selections, Allie Jones, the First Team hept-athlete, and Caisja Chandler, who was one of four women on the team to earn multiple All-American selections.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING
The Women of Troy are getting an upgrade in facility due to a generous $10 million dollar gift from the Fritz B. Burns Foundation that will fund the new Rawlinson Stadium.
Both women’s soccer and lacrosse will have a new field to play on, and will feature 2,200 seats, spectator viewing decks, and much more. The new stadium will replace the current Soni McAlister Field that has been in use since 1998. The new state-of-the-art stadium will finish construction and be ready for starting in 2025.
Both programs will have the opportunity to play in, “one of the best, most modern stadiums in the country,” said by women’s soccer head coach Jane Alukonis. It will provide a new home for these teams, but of course, the same ‘Fight On’ mentality.
