🔼 Championship Caliber Hire. The highly decorated former high school and collegiate athlete has landed at USC as the newest assistant coach for the women’s basketball program. Coach Willnett Crockett brings 13 years of coaching experience to the program, as well as championship experience from her playing days in college.

🔼 Comedic Relief. This weekend, a familiar face from Hollywood stopped by USC football practice to give the team a bit of encouragement before the Trojans’ opening game against San Jose State this coming Saturday. More than a few laughs were heard.

🔼 Speed Racers. Many of our Trojans are competing this week in the 2023 World Championships, and a couple have already secured medals through the event’s first couple of days.

👟 Yemi Mary helped secure her home country of Great Britain a silver medal in the mixed 4×400 relays. She helped set the country’s new record with a time of 3:11.06.

👟 Tade Ojora won his heat in the 110m hurdles with the 5th fastest time of any qualifier.

👟 And all Rai Benjamin wants are some donuts…

There will be a lot more to come from Budapest as our Trojan Family continue to compete for medals throughout the week in sports’ biggest event.

🔼 Another One. The newest member of the Trojan men’s golf team will be repping the cardinal and gold for the first time this upcoming season. Sam Lape is joining USC coming off a 2023 NCAA National Championship qualification with Furman.

The Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll is out, and has picked USC women’s volleyball to finish fourth this year. Coming off of last year’s fourth place finish and 13-7 conference record, it gives the Trojans room for motivation to climb up those rankings.

Only Stanford, Washington State, and Oregon were picked ahead of the Trojans in the standings, with the Cardinal receiving a majority of first place votes. This year, USC will look to capture their first Pac-12 Championship since the 2015 season that saw them picked to finish fifth in these same polls.
