🏅 TROJANS IN PARIS

USC is in medal contention in men's water polo, men's volleyball and diving after a busy day for Trojan Olympians in Paris. For the full Day 13 recap, click here.

🤽‍♂️ Former USC teammates squared off in the pool in a tense men's water polo quarterfinal, with Trojans Hannes Daube and Marko Vavic both scoring penalty shots for Team USA in a deciding shootout against Australia, which had four former Trojans capped up. The USA men are now through to the Olympic semifinals for the first time since 2008.

💧 Incoming Trojan and first-time Olympian Moritz Wesseman placed eighth representing Team Germany with a score of 433.00 to advance to the final on August 8.

💨 Rai Benjamin (USC, 2019) of Team USA cruised to victory in his men's 400m hurdles semifinal heat with a time of 47.85. His time was third overall among the qualifiers. The men's 400m hurdles final will be on Aug. 9 at 12:45 p.m.

🔼 Warm Welcome. As many USC track and field alumni compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, back home, the Trojans added some more firepower to its coaching staff. USC added assistant coach Brenton Emanuel, last year’s Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year winner with Nebraska. Emanuel will focus his time and energy on Trojan student-athletes competing in sprint events.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF

24 days until kickoff, Trojan Family!

In USC football’s 2005 season, running back LenDale White set the single-season rushing touchdown record after punching it into the endzone 24 times. As half of the “Thunder and Lightning” duo from that season, White ran the ball 197 times for 1,302 yards and his record-breaking scoring amount that also included two receiving touchdowns.
