🔼 Road Trojans. For the first time this season, USC football is hitting the road. The No. 5 Trojans will take on their second Pac-12 foe of the season in Arizona State.
In their last performance, USC put up 56 points against Stanford, and quarterback Caleb Williams continued to show why he is one of the best players in all of college football with his 281-yard, three-touchdown performance.
Arizona State heads into the matchup 1-2 on the season and will look to play spoilers in a game that the Trojans are favored to win.
🔼 Fabulous Freshmen. A pair of Trojans earned conference honors this week for their recent performances in both women’s volleyball and soccer.
🏐 London Wijay was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for her first weekly award of her Trojan career. Wijay helped USC go 2-0 last weekend in the Boilermaker Challenge as she collected 22 kills, 18 digs, and recorded her first double-double.
⚽️ Maribel Flores was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week as the conference’s first freshman to earn the honor this year. Flores scored one goal and made two assists in her performance against New Mexico State en route to the award.
🔼 Into the Thick Of It. Riding high off of their five-game win streak, USC women’s volleyball will head into conference play against cross town rivals UCLA.
This meeting between the Trojans and the Bruins will mark the 111th meeting between the two, and USC holds the advantage 63-57 all-time. Last year, USC completed the series sweep against the UCLA, and this year the 6-4 Trojans will look to start off on the right foot once again. Tipoff will be later today at 7:00pm PT at the Pauley Pavilion.
🔼 Incoming! USC is heading into the track and field season with 30 new additions to the team. The group consists of 12 men and 18 women student-athletes who are either new recruits or incoming transfers that will bolster an already loaded track and field squad.
🔼 It’s Time. This weekend, the Women of Troy tennis team are competing in three different tournaments across the country as they launch into the 2023-24 season.
Emma Charney and Snow Han will compete at the Fall Ranked Spotlight, an event that Han finished as a quarterfinalist one year ago.
Parker Fry, Sloane Morra, Isabelle Lee and McKenna Koenig will all head to the USTA SoCal Intercollegiate to compete in both singles and doubles competition. Fry will be competing for the first time as a Trojan.
Lastly, Eryn Cayetano and Grace Piper will compete in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic where each will compete as individuals and as a duo. Cayetano returns to USC fresh off an All-American honor and NCAA Quarterfinals appearance.

Historically Low. USC women’s golfer Amari Avery continues to show that she is one of the best in the country, and she further proved that in her first showing of the 2023-24 season.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING
Talk about a statement win.
USC women’s golf opened the season on the highest of notes after securing a 31 stroke win at the Leadership and Golf Invitational.
Amari Avery captured the top spot after shooting 9-under par for the tournament. Catherine Park and Brianna Navarrosa tied for second place with 7-under par finishes. Each of the Trojans’ five competitors finished in the top-13 of the tournament as the team finished as the only school to shoot under par for the tournament.
