🔼 On To The Next. Get ready Round of 16, because the Trojans are on their way. After a 4-0 sweep of the first round against Idaho, the No. 10 Trojans took on San Diego in order to keep their NCAA hopes alive. USC took care of business in doubles play after two quick wins thanks for duos Bradley Frye and Learner Tien and Stefan Dostanic and Ryan Colby. Each team won in quick sets to take the 1-0 lead early in the match.

In singles play, it was more of the same, with both Frye and Wojtek Marek earning victories in straight sets against their opponents. The match clinching win came from Peter Makk as he won his match in straight sets to send the Trojans into the next round of the NCAA Tournament.

With this victory, USC marked its 15th consecutive season the team has reached the Super Regional. The Trojans will face off against No. 7 Michigan later this week for a chance to continue their run.

🔼 Dynasty. Not one, not two, but your USC Trojans have now won three beach volleyball national championships! That’s a dynasty if we have ever heard of one.

After falling to UCLA three times during the season, the Trojans pulled one out when it mattered most, as USC beat the Bruins 3-2 in the Championship Dual. Jenna Johnson and Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope got things off to a good start for USC after beating their opponents in straight sets to give the team an early 1-0 lead. Following the pair up was the Maddie duo (Shields and White), and after a hard fought match, USC came out on top in three sets to put the Trojans up 2-0, needing just one more win to secure the title.

The Bruins did their best to mount a comeback and tied the score up at two apiece. The championship rested on Nourse twins, Audrey and Nicole to bring USC another title home, and they delivered in dramatic fashion. After losing the first set, they came storming back to take the last two sets to grab the match and the title as the whole squad rushed the court to celebrate.

With the championship win, USC grabs its third title in a row, and its fifth in the last seven years. USC is officially a beach volleyball powerhouse, and this tournament’s efforts have proven just that.

🔼 Senior Day Success. If there’s one thing you should know about this team, it’s that they know how to protect home turf. The Trojans, for the sixth straight home series in a row, took the series win against No. 17 Oregon after a dominant 11-4 victory.

It happened all at once when USC put up six runs in the second inning, and never looked back thanks to Johnny Olmstead and Bryce Grudzileanek-Martin’s two run singles. By the fourth inning, the Trojans were up by nine after Jacob Galloway ripped a double that drove in two runs. If there’s any stat that indicates it was all Trojans yesterday, it’s that every USC starter reached base safely throughout the game.

The series win brought USC’s season total to 27-20-1, and greatly bolstered their resume for the postseason. Senior day at Dedeaux was one to remember, but the focus now shifts to tomorrow’s game against CSU Bakersfield and the subsequent Pac-12 matchup with Arizona State. Catch any of those games live at Dedeaux here.

🔼 Hard Fought. USC women’s tennis’ magical run comes to an end as the Women of Troy fell to No. 9 Pepperdine 4-1 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

USC didn’t go down without a fight, as the Trojans forced over an hour of doubles play, but eventually gave up the point as they headed into their singles matches. Freshman Emma Charney gave USC their lone point of the match after defeating her opponent in straight sets. It was too little, too late, as Pepperdine took the last match of the day to eliminate USC from the tournament.

On the bright side, not all Trojans are finished in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Eryn Cayetano and Maddy Sieg will rep Southern California and head to Orlando later this month to compete in both the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.

🤔 TROJAN TRIVIA

Feeling Beachy. USC Beach Volleyball secured its third championship in a row yesterday, and cemented themselves as one of the best to ever do it. Getting to the championship was no easy task, and USC earned every win they got en route to their tournament win.

Our question today—do you know how many matches the Trojans had to win in order to raise the NCAA National Championship trophy?

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

It’s time to celebrate (again) Trojan fans! For the first time since 2019, the Women of Troy earned their second-ever lacrosse Pac-12 title after defeating Colorado 12-6 on Saturday.

The defense was absolutely lockdown as the Trojans held the Buffalo to their lost point total when facing USC since the last championship matchup in 2019. Catherine Lord posted two forced turnovers with five draw control and two groundballs. Goalkeeper Kait Devir also came up clutch with four saves on the day.

As for the offense, it was a pair of hat-tricks that lead the Trojans to victory as both Isabelle Vitale and Maggie Brown both recorded three-goal days. Vitale finished the day with six total points as she spread some love and added three assists to the game.

With the Pac-12 title, USC earns themselves an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament as the Trojans will face off against Denver University on May 12th at 2:00pm PT.
