Tournament Ready, One Big Thing, and much more!
Good morning! The Stank factor is in full effect after the Trojans wrapped up an incredible baseball season on the diamond. After being picked to finish last in many preseason polls, USC baseball ended the regular season #4 in the Pac-12 standings. How ‘bout them apples?
What all can you find in today's Brew?
🎾 Tournament Ready
⛳️ One Big Thing
⚔️ And much, much more!
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Extra-oar-dinary. The powerhouse of USC’s Varsity Eight team has earned herself an All-Conference selection from the Pac-12 after having sat in the stroke seat in every race this season. Junior Zoe McCutcheon, the Northern Ireland native, earned her second All-Conference selection of her career and will participate in the NCAA Championship races for the Trojans later this month.
🔼 Tournament Ready. NCAA Individual action is in full swing this week, and USC’s men’s tennis team is sending three of their best to go out and bring a title home for the Trojans.
In the singles bracket representing USC is No. 32 ranked Stefan Dostanic and No. 48 ranked Peter Makk who will both play their matches this afternoon. Makk heads into the tournament with a team leading 18 singles wins for the Trojans, while Dostanic comes on to the court with ten ranked wins on the season.
In the doubles bracket, Dostanic will join with Bradley Frye as they represent USC’s top doubles team of the season. The No. 11 ranked duo heads into NCAA play with a 12-9 overall record. They will face off in their first match on Tuesday to open up doubles play.
🔼 Finishing The Fight. After surrendering the first two games of the series, USC baseball came back strong and closed out the regular season with a dub against Arizona to wrap up the four-seed at the Pac-12 Tournament.
Not only did they close out the season, the Trojans did so in style. USC scored 14 runs in the series ending victory, and had season highs in both hits (19) and home runs (4) in a single game this season. Ryan Jackson and Carson Wells ended the day with the best plate performances, each accumulating four hits and at least two RBI’s. Catch the recap of the match here.
With the regular season over and done, it’s time to focus on the road ahead, and the journey starts with a matchup against cross-town rival, UCLA. The action begins Tuesday at 2:30pm PT in Scottsdale, AZ, and trust us on this one, you aren’t going to want to miss any of the action.
🔼 Star Duo. USC women’s tennis is also sending a pair of players to compete for an NCAA title this coming week. Duo Eryn Cayetano and Maddy Sieg will face off in both singles and doubles play this week.
Sieg, the No. 11 ranked singles player, heads into the tournament with a 28-2 overall singles record this season. She also became the Trojan’s 100th All-American in program history before making her NCAA debut. Cayetano, the 44th ranked single in the country, put up a solid 22-11 record during the season as the No. 3 position for USC.
The duo will compete with a 14-4 record overall in NCAA play and carries a No. 17 ranking heading into the tournament. Singles play begins this morning as both girls will attempt to break into the Round of 32. Doubles play begins tomorrow.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING
Did we expect anything different? Trojans golf is headed to the next round of the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale after finishing fourth in the 30 team field through 54 holes of golf. Today, the Trojans must finish in the top eight to qualify for the championship match-play bracket in order to reach a fourth NCAA title.
Even more impressive? USC’s very own Catherine Park leads the entire field by two strokes as she sits at 10 under-par through the first three rounds. With an individual title, she would become USC’s first solo winner since 2014. “My main goal is to just stay with my routine and be committed to my targets,” said Park following her one under-par third round. She, as well as the rest of her teammates, will continue the title race later today.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: 200!
Over the entire history of the program, USC has sent 200 athletes to compete for gold, silver, and bronze in all types of track and field events. With a pair of Pac-12 award winners, who knows, maybe the Trojans will add a couple more to that total here soon.
Have a great Monday, everyone!
